As a beginner, you get a taste of what it feels like to be an effective handler, while your puppy learns to depend on you as a loving, consistent authority. Behavior problems that “might have been” in your future are greatly diminished or altogether eliminated. Get your relationship with your puppy off to great start!
Lessons will include: Grooming, health, and general care; Applying types and levels of discipline; Correcting and praising; Dealing with chewing and housebreaking; Preventing jumping up; Reading body language; Introducing sit, down, wait, and stand commands; Coming when called; Walking without pulling on the lead; Riding in the car

The lengthening attention span and maturing personality of the adolescent dog call for a natural transition to more complex commands and more vigorous training exercises. As your skills and experience as a handler increase, so will your expectations for your dog’s behavior and your ability to understand and guide his development. You will be delighted when your dog’s behavior shows immediate improvement. These are the fun and informative classes for the new handler with the not-so-new dog!

The relationship between you and your dog continues to improve with age and experience. Dogs and handlers who have mastered basic obedience will enjoy this opportunity to take on new challenges and renew or maintain the pleasure derived from working as a team.
